What are Funded Programmes?

Funded programmes are training opportunities where the cost of learning is covered by a funding body, such as a Sector Education and Training Authority, government department, or corporate sponsor. This means that eligible learners do not pay tuition fees for the programme. At Phosaane Training Institute, funded programmes are designed to increase access to skills development for individuals who may not be able to afford training independently, while also supporting national skills priorities and workforce development.

Who can apply for funded programmes?

Funded programmes are usually open to learners who meet specific criteria set by the funding body. These may include:

  • Being unemployed or employed, depending on the programme
  • Meeting minimum educational requirements
  • Being within a specific age range
  • Residing in certain areas or communities
  • Being part of a designated group, such as youth, women, or persons with disabilities

Each funded opportunity will clearly state its eligibility requirements.

How do I apply for a funded programme?

Applications for funded programmes are only open when funding has been secured and opportunities are available. See the list below for available opportunities.
